GIVING NATURE
A VOICE THROUGH
YOUTH LED INITIATIVES.

Rising Earth is a nonprofit creating graphic novels, media experiences, teaching curriculum, and outreach—all created in collaboration with teens from our youth programs. Our work promotes a culture of consciousness and kindness towards ourselves and the earth.

Our Graphic Novels

We're creating graphic novels that connect a personal narrative of a real youth activist or innovator to an environmental condition. This provides a rich, engaging, and cohesive platform to investigate the history, science, and social issues behind each condition. By illustrating the choices and roles human beings have played throughout our environmental history, we can understand more clearly where we are now and how things might progress.

LIVING WORLDS.

There are a lot of things that distract teenagers these days. A lot of things that are more exciting than a textbook. So things like Rising Earth’s graphic novels are a step in the right direction. I think it’s the future of education.

Interdisciplinary Curriculum for Educators

For Science, Social Studies, English, Art, and community educators: Lessons, resources, and awareness programs accompany our units.

Each of our graphic novels are a part of larger education units created for youth ages 12-18. Teens from our youth programs advise us on how these materials can be engaging for our target audience.

Our units will include media experiences for the classroom and beyond, combining modern technology with traditional knowledge guiding future generations toward a more positive human impact.

The stories Rising Earth tells are about young people around my age. It’s a different feeling when you learn about someone who’s your own age. It helps young people realize ‘Wow, I CAN make a difference.’
